Voice Recognition Software
This software is a useful tool for individuals who have difficulty using a keyboard, have issues with spelling or who just want to speed up their typing and accuracy.
How does this software work?
Voice Recognition software works on the principle that you can talk to the computer by giving commands that it will perform such as opening a programme, browsing the internet, accessing databases etc.
It also then enables you to dictate your letters, reports, emails and much more. Once you have effectively set up the voice files, you will notice that the speed you can dictate into the computer is much quicker than typing. It is also more accurate.
However, a word of caution – you do have to ensure that you have properly trained the voice so that it recognises the way you dictate to the computer. For example, it needs to learn the way you pronounce words and construct sentences. If you miss some of these stages success can be limited.
You also need to ensure you are working from a computer that has the recommended capacity i.e. hard drive space, memory, sound card.
